In addition to eating healthy and making sure you’re taking the best vitamins and supplements to help improve your fertility, it’s also important to get enough exercise to help give your body’s reproductive system the boost it needs.

Many studies have been conducted over the years, as to how exercise impacts fertility and the chances of conception.  The general consensus is that 30 minutes of moderate exercise 3 to 5 times a week benefits all women who are trying to conceive, while strenuous exercise tends to be a hindrance for some women in their ability to conceive.

Good choices for moderate exercise while trying to conceive:

  • Brisk walking
  • Leisurely swimming
  • Leisurely bicycling
  • Yoga for fertility
  • Golfing
  • Gardening

It is also important to note that with an increase of daily activity and calories burned, you will need to consume enough healthy calories so that your body does not fall into an energy deficit.  Energy deficits happen when you burn a greater number of calories than what you consume and our reproductive system is very sensitive to energy deficits.
